I wrote this poem in a moment of deep inner struggle — when following God meant letting go of everything I thought I needed. The idea of surrendering my plans, my timing, and my understanding was terrifying. But in that fear, I found the beginning of peace.

Vase is more than a poem. It is a prayer — my honest attempt to trust, to become new, to let go of old things and be filled with God’s presence. I was tired, anxious, and disappointed by people I had trusted. My heart was sick with fear. But in writing these words, I was asking God to heal me, to renew my heart so I could love again — to love others as I love myself.
