There was a time in my life when fear became routine. I was afraid to open the door, afraid to check my email, afraid to answer the phone. Darkness felt constant, my peace had vanished, and frustration surrounded me like a storm. So I ran — not away, but toward Jesus.

I remembered who I was as a child — unafraid, laughing, carefree. I had broken my arm more than once, stepped on sharp things, but never knew fear like I did as an adult. And so, in one of my darkest moments, I wrote Like a Child.

This poem is more than words — it’s a prayer. A tender cry to recover the peace we once carried so effortlessly. It’s about longing to dwell not in control, but in surrender. To believe that joy and safety are still possible, not through our own strength, but through divine grace.
