There was a season where I truly believed God had forgotten me.

I had surrendered everything — just like I always sang: “I lay down my plans, I give up my rights, I let You take control of this surrendered life.” And yet, after saying yes to His plan, I found myself in a place darker than I’d ever known. Provision didn’t come. Silence replaced the conversations I used to have with God. And I started to ask myself: Did I hear wrong? Did I follow the devil instead?
At church they said, “If it’s God, there will be provision.” But mine never came.
I was lost. My faith was unraveling. The words of others, like cold winds, cut deeper than I could bear. I was reaching for God’s hand, but all I felt was absence. That’s when this poem was born — Autumn Day. A day that never seemed to end, a soul stripped of certainty.
And yet, in that moment of silence, I remembered:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
This poem is for anyone who has waited, doubted, or cried out in spiritual silence. It is a quiet testimony — not of victory, but of endurance. Of believing even when you feel forgotten. Of holding on to God’s promises in the middle of autumn, when everything else feels like it’s falling.
